Another mic question here, has anyone taken the grille off of a DM14? if so is it a screw fit or a push fit there is no obvious method to remove it and I am wondering (hoping NOT) if the grilles of these were glued on? It will not budge at all and I would hate to damage the perfect chrome finish (body will be for a respray) am interested to find out what the element is like, sadly It came with no cable attatched.

I had the same trouble - worked on a customer's recently and didn't feel I could open it safely so I didn't. And I have some pretty good techniques.

SUKM - the only strap wrenches I have don't work well for stuff less than about 3" in diameter - do you have a source for strap wrenches that are good for this sort of thing?

How about a bit of heat to the rim? would that risk the element? Though if I can't get in, the darn thing will stay dead so I might risk it. Thanks for the feedback though. I think we might need a mic mod section on the Space Board.
