Cool fat chicago tone, not the same I like but good (i prefer SM57 heavily as it sounds cleaner and better for fast playing). I wondered about feedback restance with so big amp.

I'm not sure if they are the same ones, but I often see NOS no name crystal elements on eBay, and I certainly have wondered how they'd sound!

Joe --

Thanks for the tip. I have seen the Kobitones for sale in various places. In truth, two crystal mics are enough. I like the sound, but not as much as the Shure CM/CR or other dynamic mics.

I play harmonica about 9 years. And if I got some money I buy harmonica stuff for me. To be honest I hate to spend money for anything except gear, eat and maybe somegadgets(mp3-player, computer, netbook...). My girlfriend make me buy new clothes sometimes, I hate to spend money for clothes... My gear is too heavy to carry with me without car, but if I should stop buying gear to buy car for me, but I can't. So, I can't recommend you a tint ((:

I believe that's what comes in the current Hohner blues blaster. Not for me. Thin tone. But I can't be sure. One thing I CAN be sure of - you can take all the "listen to this rig" youtubes and flush them down the toilet as far as I'm concerned. You simply cannot hear and compare subtle differences between elements with this incredibly compressed, volume-irrelative medium. You MUST hear them live, back to back with something to compare to, by the same player.

ok, i'm a dime light but I thougth NOS had to do with racing cars or the dentist. I'm having computer gliches so its hard for me to hit YouTube and hear what you're saying. I do have a few of Kim Wilson's songs on my ipod.

It's not a Kobitone element. I played one of those in a Blues Blaster just last Sunday, and it was dreadful. Really crappy harp tone. The Front & Cener mics sound nothing like that. My F&C mic sounds betterthan my CM bullet, and rejects feedback WAY better.

Blue Eyes,If you only have a few of Kim's on your Ipod,in myhumble opinion that is not enough. You also can't have too much Rice Miller either.I'm just sayin'

I just got one and since have played several gigs and this thing is great. Very loud and I like the tone. Bent Reed came to my jam and helped me put it to the test. Light weight too. Oh yah, I want to mention that the cable plugs into the mic and it is really in there. Not like the switch craft deely, it really holds the cable GOOD.
