It bought at Kevin`s HARP HOUSE.

It has Japanese element but sounds good, and mid boost wiring (probably).

It is basically the same thing as the mics Rod Piazza was selling with the "Rod mod" which was take out the XLR connector and the 500K pot that was being used, and replace it with the screw on connector placed in the spot where they were prior to 1984, and a volume pot with the correct value for a crystal/ceramic mic, which was 5meg, plus a low value capacitor behind the pot, so that when you roll down the pot, you don't lose the mids and highs, and the main difference between the ones Rod was doing and the ones Kevin was putting out was that Kevin never put the capacitor there, which allowed it to have the same overall sound no matter how high or low the pot was turned.

Is this mic still available? Where do you get them?

I have a gray Crystal Balls from the now-defunct Kevin's Harps. It's a good sounding mic--much cleaner than my rat JT-30 with a CR element, but it still has a nice rasp. My mom bought it for me as a birthday present 15 years ago, so I'll never part with it.

Kevin sold the business to some new owners who called the business Best Little Harphouse. They abruptly closed their doors last year, leaving many people in the lurch who had placed prepaid orders. You can read some of the comments of those happy customers on their MySpace page:
