Harp Commander III or Jnr.

Any opinions or comments or comparisions with other products of the Harp Commander products? Is the HC Jnr the same as the HC III but with less options or do they sound different?

I got the impression from some of the reviews that the Jnr had a better tone. Which suprised me. the Effects loop and the Low z mic input of the HC III is a real selling point to me. Any other similair products.

I am also interested in the BBE Aoustimax

, and the Damage Control Womaniser

as alternatives.

All great gear but a bit of a mine field.

Does anyone use preamps into a PA or a clean amp? What do you use and how would you rate it? I am hoping to get one in the post Christmas sales since I cant afford the amp I want and I have more gigs coming up. There is a Damage control Womaniser on Ebay. Anyone use this?

Not sure about those. I hear excellent things about harpgear amps and I adored a Fat Dog amp I once played through. I am relatively certain that a clean mic through a dirty amp is the way to go. Good luck and happy shopping :)

Try Lonewolf HarpAttack from It's cheapier than HarpCommander, it has real tube inside it and it sounds good.

BBE is acoustic preamp, you will not produce overdriven harp tone. I use their great sonic stomp it's great but it's another thing than HarpCommander.

I had other ideas with aucoustimax BBE preamp Boris. It has a an effects look so I could use it with a tube pre amp and delayand have a great little setup. EQ, nothch filter, sonic maximiser plus a great acousic pre amp in its own right. I may still try that one day. Thanks for the input. Yes lone wolf does sound good.

By the way I'm looking for some mic pre with XLR input, XLR output (to soundboard), 1/4 output (to amp), 4 band eq, notch (to cut feedbacking freqs) and FX loop to put there all my guitar FX.

I've seen one, but no rewievs from harmonica players.
