Greg Heumann has spoken very highly of the Kalamazoo Model Two amps, and I believe that he repairs and sells them. To my surprise, a clean and fixed up one came up locally, so after some thought, I e-mailed the seller. It only has been a day or so, but I haven't heard from the guy.

These amps were inexpensive amps made by Gibson in the sixties. They have a mixed reputation for guitar, but a stellar one for harp. If I get it, it will be my first amp really bought just for harp, as I play guitar, too.

I just bought one from Greg myself. Added the line out option on it, now I can turn that little machine into a powerhouse through the PA. Good luck on your buying one. I tried buying one here locally and it turned out the shop couldnt sell it to me because there were no consignment papers on file for it. Greg's always got them coming in and out though. He can add you to an emailing list to let you know when he has one available.

Thanks, Hawkeye! How do you like yours? The guy here still has it, he just wasn't willing to use PayPal and ship it to me. I'm hoping to see it later this week.

Well, by the time that I could get over to see it (today), it was gone. I'm not really upset, because I have some great amps ... and I need to see how they all sound again. I haven't been playing amplified harp that much lately. It feels pretty cool to have been thrifty, even if it was because the thing was gone!
