This was nice and very frustrating at the same time. Nice because of the players and their ability to perform. Frustrating because I stink. Its hard leaning to play a simple Bonanza theme song or M.A.S.H with a 10 hole diatonic. Then you hear and see thess guys.. I did not even know there were other kinds of harmonica's out there.

You can keep on adding all kinds of different shaped harps, ok, are they called harps. I know in doing a search on harps you don't always get harmonica's. Hay im confused and frustrated at the same time.

I think im going to take some time and search the different kinds and shape of harmonica's and what music they are played with.

Thank you sir for opening my eyes, wide shut.

sorry having trouble posting comments. again.

no need to reply or comment to this post. it was to be added into as a comment, but no matter what I did it would not add. Its a problem I have been having for several months now.. some times it works some time it wont. Its like having an car and you can only drive it so far before it heats up.

sometimes my comments are cut off or I lost the whole thing.. im a fly by night writer. if its lost its lost. I don't have the mind set to refresh this stuff in my mind.

Harmonica has never been a blues only, folk only, or anything only music, contrary to popular misconceptions and there are classical players as well. Tremelo harps are often used in Irish music, certain scales are used in music of certain countries so that certain alternate tunings make sense as to what's going on. You'r eonly beginning to touch the surface.

BBB, please don't make it be so.

I have heard the harp in just about every commercial, opening theme song to a show or movie. it seems like the 10 hole diatonic or the chromatic are the ones that I have seen the most. Im not even sure if I know what the others sound like. lets go a little further, I would not even know how to search on any site to see them other Harmonica's played.

You are right, it seems that I get stuck in the thinking in such a closed box that to try and find other types of music is becoming work.

learning is hard.
