I already have that coming on order and I think their initial shipment starts either today or tomorrow. Some of this stuff I had on vinyl or bootlegged tapes that was given to me some years ago and the stuff that was given to me on a cassette got stolen 10 years ago along with some live Big Walter at Bunratty's in 1975 and the T-Birds at the Speakeasy in 1977 when my car got broken into in broad freaking daylight. Damn!! That was a huge stab in the heart.
NOOO!!! I don't gots the moneh's for a box set!
Did anyone else get theirs yet? I got mine, and there were no "track by track credits" or "extensive liner notes by Tony Glover, Scott Dirks & Ward Gaines, the authors of the definitive Little Walter biography, “Blues With A Feeling/The Little Walter Story.” Maybe I'm just the victim of a manufacturing screw-up but I'd like to know..... (I've already contacted the company, waiting to hear back.)
later that same evening......
We apologize that the booklet was not contained in your order. We will send you one shortly.Sincerely,Online Customer Support"
I got mine last week. Most of the stuff I already had, some from the long out of print Canadian bootlegs on a label called Le Roi De Blues from the early 80's. Like the discontinued Charley box, there are so many different alternate takes, they also have what is listed as an alternate take of Blue Midnight, but the real deal is that what they list as the alternate take is actually the originally issued take minus the fade out and the take following it is the actual alternate take that first got released on the Le Roi De Blues series in the 80's, but I had actually heard that in the mid 70' when I was hanging out with Muddy Waters and his band backstage at the long defunct Paul's Mall in Boston, MA and harp man Joe Berson had an entire cassette of bootlegged unreleased LW stuff, and that was one of the tacks.
