Being present on a few European forum, I had the chance to discover a few great female players and singers recently. There is Christelle we all know but, from the blues scene, here is one I just discovered: Kellie Rucker. From her name, she might be german. Some of you might know her. She is a great blues woman, singer, harp player and performer! Check the following vid...
Who are your favorite woman in harp blues? Annie Raines is another I really dig!

annie raines of course! and cheryl arena. there is a gal here in central arkansas whose name escapes me, she blows harp and sings in more a blues/rock vein. but it's rare here to see that and i am always impressed by it.
big mama thornton played some mean harp in her time too. etta james did a vocal vamp harp thing on a few songs too. not actual harp but a very cool thing all the same.

Big Nancy Swarbrick is a Blues woman! Check her out on Myspace. She don't need no amp, her tone comes from within.
Annie and Cheryl are both good friends of mine and they sure can play!!
Hey Tony, here you got it. She might not be able to stand up to play but, when she plays, I guess she stands... above! Thanks for it man! What a soul, what a soul! On her site, I played along and, I learn many simple licks she plays and that are very well used with so much heart into it they become "grandioses". She moves me. A lot!
I agree with you Chris C....Big Mama Thorton rules! ;-)
I jammed withTamara Rodruigez in Girona Spain a few months ago, she was very good
