I bought a set of suzuki firebreath reed plates, thinking they would fit on a comb that I already have. Since they don't, I was wondering if anyone has suggestions of where to buy a comb that would work.

Randy Sandoval or Chris Reynolds would make you one!
So you can buy just the reed plates aye
Cool project idea:
Order a replacement comb for the Golden Melody from Chris at blowyourbrassoff.com. You need a flat comb for this project, the stock GM comb will not work because of the raised areas in the rear. I recommend Chris because I use his combs, so I'm familiar with his work- not because of any negative opinions of anyone else who may be offering similar products.
Remove a bit from each end of the FB reed plates to make them the same width as Golden Melody reed plates. Drill the comb to match the holes in the Suzuki plates.
Complete the assembly with a set of Golden Melody covers- and you should end up with a fairly respectable playing "custom" harp.
Geo. said that bushman combs would work. I'd check with Bushman .
I did get a beautiful comb from Randy Sandoval at Genesis Harmonicas.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Firebreath reedplates will fit on the Suzuki alloy combs (all Promasters, Hammond) and the Fabulous silver-plated brass comb.
For a cheaper option, they will also fit in the Suzuki moulded plastic combs (Harpmaster and Bluesmaster), though there will be a tiny(0.5 mm gap at the front).

The Bushman plastic combs ARE the Suzuki Bluesmaster combs. That's where Bushman buys them evidentially.
